Vietnam is starting to prepare for its Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday season, in late January. Around this time of year the enforcement authorities do two things. The first is prepare to take their own Tet holidays, during which time they, like the rest of the country will down tools! But in the run up, they get very excited and carry out many raids on counterfeits.

Vietnam News reports that they have already begun with a press conference yesterday reporting 14,400 bottles of fake Stolichnaya, 14,280 cosmetic products and 1,690 mobile phones seized. The Vietnam Anti-counterfeiting and Intellectual Property Protection Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises, was encouraging in the newspapers too. See here for more details about that organisation.
