The latest cases filed against pirate trademarks in the Central Jakarta Commercial Court are the following:
Christian Dior Couture has sued a local businessman over the mark CARLFS DIOR registered to cover eyewear, claiming similarity between it and their CHRISTIAN DIOR mark which is also used for eyewear.
Wavin BV of the Netherlands has sued a local registrant of the mark CARVIN registered for industrial pipes which it claims is similar to its WAVIN mark registered around the world; and that CARVIN was registered in bad faith.
The Commercial Court remains busy with cancellations of conflicting trademarks. But IP Komodo notes fewer blatant famous mark conflicts and an increase in subtler copies, such as the above.
