Pfizer raid in Cebu, Philippines

Pfizer Inc.filed a trademark complaint that resulted in the seizure of 1 million Philippine pesos ($23,028) worth of fake Viagra pills in Cebu City in late September. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) undertook the raid against Ali Tang, owner of Golden Ling Merchandising. The Chinese citizen was arrested and the NBI confiscated a total of 383 boxes each containing four tablets of the fake Viagra. The agents also seized other sex enhancement drugs.

The big question now will be whether he will be prosecuted. Cases are still not yet proceeding quickly despite recently procedural simplifications.

  1. I don't get the point why they should sell or make those fake drugs just to gain money.
