More ASEAN exporters targeted for software piracy

Hot on the heels of the prosecution of a Thai company's US operations, for software piracy - details here - comes news that 6 more Asian companies are under investigation in one of the several states (presumably Massachusetts, Washington DC, or Louisiana) that enforce the unfair competition laws. The Thai IP department, who has presumably been in discussions with the US, revealed recently that companies from China, Vietnam, Thailand and Hong Kong are also under investigation.

The IP department announced assistance to Thai firms to avoid running afoul of the laws, through a seminar in cooperation with the Open Computing Alliance called "How to Export to the US by Not Breaching the UCA" to be held next week on 28 November in Bangkok.
